Last year, over 190 million francs were sold in the Swiss music market. The industry association IFPI Switzerland announced that sales in the sound carrier market increased by almost 4 percent. A good three quarters of sales were achieved through streaming, i.e. by companies such as Spotify or Apple Music. The music streaming business grew by 16 percent last year. The situation of Swiss musicians has hardly improved the plus in streaming, said Lorenz Haas from IFPI Switzerland to SRF. The revenue from streaming could not compensate for the canceled concerts.
