/ world today news/ The second pop culture festival in Hong Kong will open on April 6. It features more than 20 activities to take people on a journey describing the development of pop culture in Hong Kong, the government of the special administrative region said.
The organizers from the Department of Recreation and Cultural Services shared what the theme of the event will be – “Arts and Action”. During the festival there will be stage performances, thematic exhibitions, film screenings, library activities and much more.
“The SAR government hopes that Hong Kong’s pop culture can be appreciated by more people both at home and abroad and will continue to flourish,” said Kevin Yeung, the government’s secretary for culture, sports and tourism. during a parade to introduce the festival program in Victoria Park.
The festival will begin in the park with a two-day outdoor carnival of music, film, fashion and other arts.
The pop culture festival’s activities last year attracted more than 530,000 attendees, adding a new boost to the city’s economy, Jung added.
