When music helps give children perspectives
“Music helps” charity campaign for the Children’s Future Foundation
sport, volunteer work and regional history had prepared “Music helps 2024”. The group was supported by the municipality of Gründau, which let the house rent-free and helped with the preparations, and the Harmonie Lieblos choir, which took over the catering and left a generous donation of its own. “Music helps” is a cooperation with the district associations of local music and singing societies; The focus this time was once again on a good cause to which you can donate at the event itself or afterwards, in this case the Children’s Future Foundation. The foundation has been looking after children in need for 36 years, ensuring their nutrition, ensuring their health and enabling them to receive school and vocational training. The aim is for them to be able to look after themselves in the future and have a chance for a better life. “Poverty is fought where it arises,” said Thorsten Stolz, “and it is really sensational what is being achieved in different locations around the world. What we take for granted is not obvious for many people.”
The musical beginning was made by the Chorforum Eintracht Langenselbold (led by Leon Zellmann) and the Rothenbergen children’s choir together with the Powerkids, an open school choir from the primary school on the Altenmittlau village square (led by Sabrina Lotz). They were followed by the men’s quintet “Takt 9” from the Harmonie Lieblos singing group (led by Michael Hampel). The wind orchestra of the Rothenbergen Volunteer Fire Department (director Arno Classen) opened the second part of the concert, followed by the choir group “ChoirFire” of the GreatHouseVoices Großenhausen (director Joachim Lotz).
During the program, Klaus Ritter, Managing Director of the Main-Kinzig Choir Association, Rudolf Barget, Honorary President of the Hessian Music Association and former District Administrator Karl Eyerkaufer, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Children’s Future Foundation, emphasized the importance of helping children in need and poor conditions. “Children are our future,” Klaus Ritter called out to the guests. Karl Eyerkaufer reported on the work in the children’s villages, daycare centers, schools and training centers as well as other projects. Before the approaching Advent season, Eyerkaufer also reminded people of the parcel campaign, in which the citizens of the Main-Kinzig district can also take part again. “That sparkle in the children’s eyes is something you remember and you don’t forget,” said the former district administrator of the Main-Kinzig district.
Towards the end of the concert, donations rose to over 3,100 euros. The campaign will continue in the coming weeks. (red)
