Music for work instead of children’s laughter in the Gnome | Langeoog Current

Instead of happy children’s laughter, loud music is currently playing through the rooms of the “Wichtelnüst” daycare center, instead of raging children there is hustle and bustle. The closing time of the facility during the island holidays is used for basic cleaning and maintenance work on the heating system. Through cross-company cooperation, synergies are used to reduce costs.

After Mark Mikoteit’s daycare team had largely fetched toys and materials from the cupboards in the last week before closing time, the island community’s construction yard team cleared all furniture from the group rooms. Daniela Hüskens’ adventure pool team at the Langeoog Tourism Service is now cleaning them up. After the floor area has been sealed, the building yard team will put the furniture back in its place so that the day care team and the children can gradually put all the materials back in place with the start of emergency care, probably from March 1st.

In February there have been special island holidays for several years, which Langeogo families can use for vacation trips. Most of them cannot do this during the regular Lower Saxony holidays because they work in tourism. This year, of course, the travel options for Langeoog residents are also significantly limited due to the pandemic.
