The ‘Music For Ukraine’ festival raises more than 8,000 euros after eight hours of fun
The Municipal Park hosts a concert marathon with performances by Javier Ojeda and ten groups from Alhaurín de la Torre
The Municipal Park of Alhaurín de la Torre has been the epicenter, this Sunday, of a great concert festival for the benefit of the Ukrainian population affected by the war. The show, which began at one in the afternoon, has lasted eight hours and has had hundreds of people who have decided to support the cause of solidarity, translated into more than 8,000 euros raised in an unforgettable day featuring solidarity and demand for peace in the key of music.
The marathon of concerts, under the title of ‘Music for Ukraine’, has had the presence of Javier Ojeda, the tireless leader of the Malaga band Danza Invisible, supported by a dozen local groups of different styles: Captain Vinilo, Jammin´ Dose, Pop FM, Señor Mirinda, Comando G, Velacruz, Sono’Project, Retro Cover Band, Muelle 6 and Marintados.
The public has cheered each of the performances throughout the day, marked by the determined commitment of the artists and their cry against the illegal Russian war. During the marathon day, in addition to the 11 musical performances, presented by Eduardo Banderas and Sandra Chaves, among others, there were numerous surprises.
The mayor of Festivals and Tourism, Andrés García, and the Councilor for Social Affairs, María del Carmen Molina, have made a very positive assessment of this meeting, since many companies, businesses and residents of the group have wanted to join the cause. “We are unstoppable when music and culture come together against barbarism and in support of those who suffer from it,” Garcia stressed, highly critical of the attitude of the “tyrannical Russian president”, from whom he has demanded the immediate cessation of the conflict and withdrawal of troops from Ukrainian territory. “There are too many innocent victims and we will always be with them,” adds the mayor of Social Welfare.
The event has been organized by Comando G and the Red Cross, with the collaboration of the Department of Festivals, Tourism and Culture of the City Council of Alhaurín de la Torre, www.mientrada.net, San Miguel Beers; Famadesa; Garrido motorcycles; Score, Payán Graphics; Sound Martin; Association Eo, Eo, and Radio Planeta.
The total of what was collected in the musical and protest day has gone to the International Red Cross, one of the NGOs that has been most involved in this humanitarian crisis.
