Traben-Trarbach Meike Salzmann (accordion) and Ulrich Lehna (bass clarinet) played “Music for the Soul” as the Duo Sing Your Soul in Traben-Trarbach. The two performed in the Protestant St.
With the A clarinet, the second movement from the A major clarinet concerto by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as works by Johann Sebastian Bach with the bass clarinet, could be heard.

Meike Salzmann explained in a humorous way what you can do with “such a boatman’s piano or also called a squeeze”, and how it was first created in 1829 by her Italian piano maker. In their varied program followed the Argentine tango “On the day you will love me, it will rain roses”, the repeated request in Finnish “minä rakastan sinua – I love you!”

Meike Salzmann and Ulrich Lehna found each other in the Baltic Sea port of Eckernförde. She was born there and has been playing the accordion since she was eleven. After many studies, especially in Russia, she offers an artistic level with her instrument. In 2012 she took over the famous accordion orchestra in her hometown.

Ulrich Lehna, who was born in Mainz, was drawn to the Baltic Sea after completing his music studies in Mainz and Cologne. In the Kiel area and in Wohld in Denmark he works as a freelance concert clarinetist and successful music teacher. Several ensembles are under his direction.

The two of them were the only German duo to be invited to the world’s most renowned clarinet festival, the World Clarinet Festival in Ostend (Belgium).
