Reduced to a trickle in 2020 because of the Covid, and canceled last year due to the weather, the Fête de la Musique returns in a more classic format this Tuesday to liven up the city. For the 40th anniversary of the event, the program promises to be plentiful on the sixteen stages installed in the city center and the districts. Twenty-four bars will also be part of the party, which will start at 6 p.m. and end at 1 a.m. in the Breton capital. A brief overview of the program.
From electro to all sauces
If all styles are of course in the spotlight for the Fête de la Musique, electro is carving out a big place this year. This will be the case on the Esplanade de Gaulle where the Soundclimat, Percept, Brume and Lena collectives will follow one another on the turntables. Going from house to a more underground techno, the Osmoz collective will make the Mitterrand mall dance, while it will be more roots on the Place Sainte-Anne with dub. Electro still in the square Hyacinthe Lorette where the collectives Frangines & Co, S’il te plait, Flou and Kepler will offer frenzied sets all evening long.
Sounds galore at Parc du Thabor
With three stages installed, there will be something for everyone in the spans of the Parc du Thabor. We will begin the evening under the kiosk where Elle will perform. B and Leki (rap), Hexenmeister Stoner (rock) and Food Fight (powerpop-punk).
–
We will then continue with a small jump to the Théâtre de Verdure with The Soap Opera (indie pop), Excellento (French rock) and Polar Line (electro blues rock) on stage. Lovers of polyphony, world songs and sacred music will find themselves in the magnificent cloister of the Saint-Melaine church.
“Do Brasil” atmosphere at the Portes Mordelaises
All dapper after long months of rehabilitation work, the Portes Mordelaises are preparing to wiggle their hips this Tuesday evening with an evening to the rhythm of Brazil. The kick-off will be given at 7 p.m. by the musicians of the Toucouleurs association who will stroll with their batucada from Place Sainte-Anne to the Portes Mordelaises.
–
The public will then be able to discover all the richness of Brazilian music with choro, pagoda, Afro-Brazilian percussion and songs, not to mention capoeira demonstrations.
The party also in the neighborhoods
If the city center concentrates a good part of the programming, there will still be a way to enjoy the Fête de la Musique in the neighborhoods. At Blosne, the Algarve Park will host a stage with concerts by Outroduction (noise rock clarinet), Marta Herschel (folk), Formica (pop rock) and King of Guru (jazz rap).
On the edge of the Vilaine, in the new district of Baud-Chardonnet, the terraces of Vertugadin will be the ideal place for children who will have the right to a boom before several groups take turns on stage. Finally, in Beauregard, Place Eugène Aulnette will vibrate to the rhythm of soul, jazz and Brass Brand 3 Regards. In the very north of the district, the Quincé farm will also be part of the party with the DJ set of Guido, half of Acid Arab.
The metro will run all night
As is the custom at every Fête de la Musique, the metro will exceptionally run all night reindeer. The Villejean and La Poterie park and ride facilities will also be open all night, while the others will close at 2 a.m. Urban and metropolitan bus lines will run until 1:35 a.m. with increased frequency on the C1 and C4. The Star de Nuit lines will then complete the system until 5am.
