Like the Love Parade, the demo train with techno music, hip-hop and many more from the trucks was a political event. The clubs, music associations and DJ collectives from the city of Saale such as Lila Drache, MACH eV, Station Endlos, Galle, Unerhör, Peißnitzhaus, Querbass, Volksbühne Kaulenberg, Charles Bronson and Digiti are protesting for a strong event culture in Halle.

“Nothing works today without a lobby,” said city councilor Dörte Jacobi and welcomed the merger of the organizers into an interest group. It must be easier to let cultural events take place, she said, and the rules would have to be changed for this. Jacobi had already submitted a motion to the city council that the city should please set up a nightlife coordination office, a kind of “night mayor”. This should serve as a kind of interface between the city administration, regulatory authorities, residents, organizers and night owls. The administration checks and checks… only a 24-hour regulatory office has now been set up, which can now visit organizers around the clock. But that doesn’t solve the real problem. That’s exactly why she wanted the nightlife coordination center to be a mediating factor. “If you live in the city, you also have to live with the fact that there is nightlife,” she said, “because otherwise you can also move to the country.” To applause, Jacobi said: “We love our city because something is happening here.”
As a representative of the “awareness team”, Anna complained that even today “sexual harassment by blokes” is a problem for many female clubbers. It is therefore important to set up safety / retreat areas in these facilities. “Dear organizers, no matter how cosmopolitan, tolerant and non-discriminatory you see yourself and your events, discriminatory structures are everywhere. Systemic power relations work everywhere and borders are also exceeded in your rooms.” The awareness in Halle must be supported financially.
