Music (collaborations with Izi and Ernia) and violence (abuse of mother and sister): the two lives of Moussa Sangare, the self-confessed killer of Sharon that everyone in town knew

Moussa Sangare, the self-confessed killer of Sharon Verzeni, had collaborations with Izi and Ernia, two Italian rappers. The circumstance, reported by several residents of Suisio where the 31-year-old lived, was confirmed by investigators. «Years ago he collaborated on the song ‘Scusà by Izi», said a boy who knew him by sight, pointing to the video with 14 million views on YouTube and which also bears the signature of ‘Moses Sangarè.

«He had a career ahead of him, I know he also wanted to participate in XFactor». His stage name also appears in the video of a song by rapper Ernia together with Izi entitled ‘Fenomenò.

Inside the house occupied by Moussa Sangare, the man arrested for the murder of Sharon Verzeni, the Carabinieri found a cardboard cutout in the shape of a human being to practice throwing knives. According to investigators, the thirty-one-year-old used it as a sort of target to practice with a knife. For this reason, since it is an element connected to the investigation, the cardboard cutout was seized. The cutout shows the signs of several stab wounds. The man is accused of premeditation in the murder.

From Music to Violence, the Two Lives of Moussa Sangare

In the town of Suisio, in the Bergamo area, everyone knew him. Moussa Sangare, the 31-year-old arrested last night for killing Sharon Verzeni, was seen at the bar in the main square until a few days ago. “He was normal, as usual,” says Andrea, who had always seen him around. “We greeted each other with a wave, that’s all.” And yet anyone who has known the boy agrees that for him there was a before and after the trip to England. A short period of life abroad, where he worked as a dishwasher, and from which he returned completely changed. Born in Milan to parents originally from Mali, before his departure from Italy he was described by everyone as a “good boy” and with a “great talent” for music, so much so that he had collaborated with artists of the caliber of Izi and Ernia. He also participated in the video for Izi’s song ‘Scusa’, released in 2016 and with 14 million views on YouTube, with the stage name of Moses Sangare. “He had a career ahead of him – they explain in the small town where he grew up -, he even wanted to participate in the X Factor program”. The owner of the pizzeria Le Piramidi, where Sangare had worked for a few years, also remembers how he was at that time. “We’re talking about ten years ago, he delivered pizzas – says Ayman Shokr – He was a good guy, a normal guy. Then he went to work in England”. Leonardo, who lives in the same building where the 31-year-old had stayed to live with his mother and sister after his father died of illness, says that when he returned he was a different person. “I saw him change at that moment. Now he was completely ‘burnt out’. I saw him taking drugs here in the street, in the square, everywhere. He didn’t have a good relationship with his family, I heard them arguing a lot, even at three or four in the morning”. To the point that, a few months ago, he even “set fire to the house”. The constant arguments would have led his mother and sister to “throw him out” of their first-floor home, and he would then “occupy the ground-floor house”, which he entered “through the window”. Sangare was then reported for mistreatment by his sister and mother, the latter of whom also suffered from serious health problems.
