The event as part of the “Kulthura 2024” series to mark the 1000th anniversary of the community at Kocherknie attracted what felt like half of Hüttlingen to the center.
Seven different artists and ensembles presented a colorful mix of music and cabaret in shops and halls.
“Joy of the beautiful sparks of the gods” sounds in many voices
It all started together and traditionally in the Holy Cross Church under the motto “1000 votes for Hüttlingen”. In the fully occupied church, all Hüttlingen choirs, as well as clubs and citizens, accompanied by a brass group from the Hüttlingen Music Association, sang traditional and new church songs as well as the final chorus of Beethoven’s ninth symphony, “Joy of the Beautiful Sparks of the Gods”.

Then everyone swarmed out. Since the catering industry in the center is now manageable in Hüttlingen, the organizers of the cultural night brought local businesses on board. That brought with it special features.
Face to face with the artists
For example, things quickly became cozy with two or three dozen visitors at Seibold Bathroom and Heating, as well as in the former Stollenmeier bakery and Rieger Jewelry Design. You stood or sat, so to speak, face to face with the artists.
“The 80 Tones” im Forum
There was significantly more space in the community hall for the local heroes of “The 80 Tones” and in the forum for the Cameroon-born singer Siyou and the legendary bassist Helmut Hattler.
And in the Horlacher clothing store, the “Hot Jeansmarkt” in Bachgasse, you could listen to the feel-good music of the humorous duo “Aunt Beete Bouquet” without crowding between the clothes racks and at the same time check out your new winter jacket.
Wide musical range
The sometimes funny numbers from “Tante Beete”, such as a Swabian Gstanzl in waltz time about a past love in Seitsberg, on the one hand, and the energetic, spirited, rocking performance by Helmut Hattler and Siyou in the Forum on the other, made this clear enormous musical range that the visitors were able to experience that evening.
However, you had to be quick on foot, plan well and have a bit of luck if you wanted to see all the other actors, such as the NouWell cousins with “Boaznklasseik” or Veronica Gonzales and her “Las Cucarachas” live in the respective locations.
There was a cabaret at “Rieger Jewelry Design” with “Utopia to go!” by Stefanie Kerker. In the Stollenmeier bakery, keyboard virtuoso Christine Schütze from Hamburg thrilled her listeners.
We can only hope that it won’t take another 1,000 years until the Hüttlinger Kulturnacht is held again.
