Musiala must stop DFB training | Radio Dresden

Frankfurt am Main (AP) – Jamal Musiala had to prematurely stop training for the German national football team.

The FC Bayern striker injured his right leg below the knee in a duel with Munich teammate Thomas Müller. After the free practice session, DFB spokeswoman Franziska Wülle gave the green light. “It’s a superficial wound that needed attention,” she said. Therefore, Musiala’s failure is not to be feared.

National team manager Hansi Flick immediately asked Musiala how he felt. Accompanied by team doctor Jochen Hahne, who visited the 19-year-old on the pitch for the first time, Musiala left the training ground of the DFB Academy in Frankfurt. Müller had already apologized for boarding with a slap on the head of his young colleague.

Neuer disappeared early in training

The first training session on the new campus site had previously started without Captain Manuel Neuer. The FC Bayern Munich goalkeeper was absent in the morning with a toe problem. National team coach Hansi Flick expects Neuer to return to training on Wednesday.

Matthias Ginter, Thilo Kehrer and Lukas Nmecha, who stayed at the team’s hotel after club assignments on Sunday to manage their workload, were also absent from the free practice session. 20 players took part in the training, which DFB employees were able to follow as spectators.

Flick prepares the DFB selection at the association’s headquarters in Frankfurt for the last matches of the Nations League group. Friday (20:45 / ZDF) is the next match in Leipzig against Hungary. Monday (20:45 / RTL) follows the classic against England at Wembley. Flick described the matches as a dress rehearsal for the World Cup in Qatar in two months’ time.
