Mushfiqur Rahim Granted Extended Leave for Second Child’s Birth

Colombo: Mushfiqur Rahim will not play for Bangladesh in the Super Four match against India in the Asia Cup. This is after the Bangladesh Cricket Board extended the leave of Mushfiqur, who returned home to share the joy of the birth of his second child.

The player returned home after the match against Sri Lanka on the last nine. The hope was to return before the game against India. However, after Mushfiqur informed that his presence with his wife, who is undergoing post-natal treatment, was necessary, the Bangladesh Cricket Board authorities gave permission.

Bangladesh’s slight hope of playing in the Asia Cup final was dashed yesterday when India defeated Sri Lanka. The winners of today’s Pakistan-Sri Lanka match will face India in the final on Sunday.
