NEW YORK – If dogs are your thing, a museum in New York City is offering an exhibition of paintings of all the puppies who have had the honor of living in the White House.
The AKC Dog Museum is a museum located at 101 Park Ave in Manhattan, just a few blocks from the Consulate General of Mexico, and is offering tours of a collection of paintings by all the loyal friends of presidents that have been painted on their stay at the White House.
From George Washington’s Foxhounds to the Obamas’ puppies Bo and Sunny, the exhibit will examine the role of dogs in American presidential history.
According to the museum site, the exhibition will focus on the different breeds of dogs that have lived in the White House. The exhibit will look at the history of these breeds, highlight some specific dogs that were owned by the presidents of the United States, and examine the influence these breeds had on the canine world, as well as the general American public.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm Entrance tickets cost $ 15.00 for adults, $ 5.00 for children under 12 years old and $ 10.00 for students between 13 and 24 years old.
