Regional Conference (Musda) DPD Democratic Party back messed up. This time a riot occurred in DPD Democrat Party NTT after a number of masses burned party attributes.
The masses protested the results of the NTT Democratic Musda which appointed Leonardus Lelo as the elected chairman of the DPD of the NTT Democratic Party.
Leonardus Lelo when contacted on Tuesday (4/1/20221) said that the rioting crowd was in the name of Jefri Riwu Kore’s sympathizers. This attribute burning action took place at 12.00 WIT.
“The roast he had was around maybe 11 or half past 12 so, 12 o’clock (NTT time),” said Leonardus.
Leo said that this arson attack broke out after he announced that he had been elected as the chairman of the NTT Democratic DPD for the next 5 years. Leo emphasized that the election process for himself as Chair of the Democratic DPD 2021-2026 was in accordance with party rules.
“In our AD/ART the Musda has been held on October 15, 2021 because in the PO, Organizational Regulation Number 2/2021 dated May 3, 2021, where the Musda only stipulates candidates who meet the minimum requirements of 20 percent support from the DPC. If you qualify as a candidate at the Democratic Musda, then the person concerned will take the DPP fit and proper test through Team 3, namely the Chairman, Secretary General, and BPOKK. It will be decided entirely by Team 3,” said Leo.
Leo said that Team 3 of the DPP was chaired by Ketum Agus Harimurti Yuhdoyono or AHY. He emphasized that AHY had made a decision that was legal and in accordance with party rules.
“So if the movements that are carried out actually violate, do not understand the AD/ART and PO. I said earlier, if the cadre is concerned there should not be such actions. There are two options, later we will check if it is not a Democrat Party cadre then he will be legally processed, let alone burn them to carry out anarchic activities, burn the attributes of the Democratic Party. As cadres, we recommend that they be fired,” said Leo.
Leo and Jefri Riwu Kore were candidates for the Chair of the NTT Democratic DPD before the first name was chosen. Leo regretted this anarchic action.
“You have to respect this. As a cadre, you have to secure the DPP’s decision as a cadre because the rules are clear,” he said.
Leo defended Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and asked the Ketum Democrat not to be blamed.
“From the start, all of us, the administrators and cadres of the NTT Democrats, agreed to respect whatever decision the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono made in deciding who would be the Chair of the DPD for the Democrat Party of NTT Province for the 2021-2026 period, from the two best cadres proposed in the NTT Province. Musda some time ago,” said Leo.
