Dallas – A 59-year-old man is in custody after a man was found dead Saturday at a construction site in Pleasant Grove, he said. dallas police.
Volney Woods Jr. was booked into jail on a murder charge Saturday night in connection with the death of Luis Cepeda López.
Police said Lopez was 52 years old, but his age could not be confirmed with online public records.
Officers found his body when they responded to a shooting around noon in the 10600 block of Grady Lane, near I-635 and Old Seagoville Road.
SWAT officers attended the scene. According to the television station WFAA, the division was called because witnesses said Woods Jr. had barricaded himself in a house.
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene by elements of the Dallas Fire-Rescue.
No further details were provided about the relationship between the victim and the detainee, or the causes of the shooting.
Woods is being held in the Dallas County Jail. His bond has yet to be set and it is unclear if he has an attorney.
