The assize court for minors is meeting behind closed doors at the Chartres court, from this Monday afternoon, to try a young resident of Lucé, suspected of being the author of a fatal stab wound.
The fight took place at the end of the afternoon of January 20, 2020, in the city center of Chartres, against a backdrop of rivalry between gangs from the districts of Vieux-Puit in Lucé and Banane in Mainvilliers.
“I felt in danger”
The recordings from the City’s CCTV cameras made it possible to reconstruct the scene and identify some of the protagonists. The young people were more than twenty to compete.
It only took a minute after the start of the brawl, a little before 6:30 p.m., for a young man from Mainvilliers to collapse, victim of a fatal stab wound. He was not yet 17 years old.

The alleged perpetrator of the stabbing, a 17-year-old Lucéen, presented himself to the police on the evening of the day after the tragedy. Placed in police custody, he designated the victim as the leader of the Mainvilliers gang. “He was armed with a hammer. I felt in danger, ”he explained while in police custody.

The young man was, until this event, unknown to the services of the judicial protection of youth. His trial will last three days. The deliberation should be delivered on Wednesday evening.
Other protagonists in this painful case have been sentenced by the juvenile court.
