Thiruvananthapuram: More revelations have come out about the murder of a 51-year-old branch in Karakonam. The branch had told a friend that she was suspicious of Arun’s involvement and was always arguing. The branch had also told a friend that Arun used to use alcohol and other intoxicants.
Shakha and Arun used to quarrel frequently over the sharing of wedding pictures on social media. Arun had said that his wife was getting old and his friends would make fun of him after watching the movie. The relatives allege that the murder was carried out by Arun to rob the branch of its property.
The branch owns about ten acres of land and a luxury home. Before the marriage, the branch had given Arun around Rs 5 lakh and a car. In addition, Arun had bought around Rs 10 lakh out of the Rs 20 lakh he got when he leased the rubber tree. He had demanded Rs 100 sovereign and Rs 50 lakh as dowry.
The branch was found dead at its home in Thresyapuram, Karakonam on Saturday morning. Arun said that he was shocked by the electric light in the house. However, police took Arun into custody after neighbors and others suspected his death. After questioning him for hours, he was found to have deliberately strangled and killed the branch.
