Murder in Antwerp: Woman Kills Partner in Stabbing – Suspect Arrested

Emergency services were dispatched to the complex of houses a stone’s throw from the Olympic Stadium just before 6am on Sunday morning. One of the residents had killed her partner there with a knife. The victim was fatally shot in the neck area. After the incident, the woman called several people, including an ex-boyfriend, who called the emergency services. The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office cannot yet provide much information about the context of the incident.

The 32-year-old resident was arrested on the spot. It’s about KDW, a mother of five. The woman’s family is shocked by the facts and describes K. as a sweet, caring mother with a ‘backpack’. “We didn’t expect this, we don’t know her like that.”

The victim is his current 34-year-old girlfriend. He was not registered at the address in Julius De Geyterstraat. At least one of the woman’s children was present at the house at the time of the incident, but it is not clear to what extent the child saw the fatal stabbing. It is said that the victim slept from time to time in the apartment, the neighbors never noticed any arguments between K. and the man, and there was nothing surprising on Saturday night or Sunday morning either. According to one neighbor, the victim may have been under the influence.

The public prosecutor’s office has requested an investigative judge for the facts of murder, the federal forensic police laboratory arrived at the site on Sunday for a forensic investigation, and an autopsy will continue on the victim’s body. Suspect K. was removed by the police on Sunday, and after initial questioning she will be brought before the investigating judge. The reason for the fact is still unclear.

The truth happened in a reception apartment of the Center for Integrated Family Care (CIG) De Stobbe, an organization that is a little further down the street and that guides families with young children in difficult parenting situations. The group does not want to comment on the truth on Sunday. The public prosecutor’s office reports that K.’s children were cared for.
