Taking advantage of the good amount available of bivalent vaccines against Covid-19 and tetanus, the Municipality of Asunción inoculated 676 officials of the Urban Cleaning Directorate for protection against viruses in one week.
The official, Arturo Borne, general coordinator of Risk Management of the Municipality, reported that officials of the Urban Cleaning Directorate are currently being vaccinated; sweepers, drivers and collectors of the morning, afternoon and night shifts.
In this sense, he pointed out that the vaccinators are approaching the operational officials in the places where they provide services in order to avoid inconveniences or delays in the work.
He himself mentioned that most workers are willing and collaborative to receive the corresponding doses of vaccines, so the task is done in a simpler and more orderly manner.
However, he indicated that for officials who are reluctant to receive vaccines, an awareness talk is held on the importance of receiving protective doses to prevent the spread of diseases.
Against Covid19, 219 officials were inoculated in the aforementioned unit, while the doses against tetanus were applied to 457 workers; but the doses will increase in the coming days considering that the vaccination task is in full swing.
Borne clarified that the doses against Covid-19 are the initial doses, for people who have not yet started any vaccination scheme, those of Moderna brand bivalent boosters, which will be applied once a year.
Finally, the vaccination coordinator stated that when the work in Urban Cleaning is finished, it is scheduled to carry out the inoculations to the workers of the Municipal Transit Police.
