Municipality spends more than 45 million pesos on leases

During 2022, the Oaxaca de Juárez city council spent more than 45 million pesos for rent for buildings where its secretariats or other administration areas operate, as well as for land and a fleet for waste collection or other services.

Most of the leasing expense, just over 25 million, was for waste transportation services, a figure that has been maintained this year as a result of the contract signed with the company Lumo Financiera del Centro. Every month, since May 31, 2022, the municipality disburses 2,260,337.49 pesos for the rental of 40 compactor trucks to this company.

In 2021, the last year of the administration of Oswaldo García Jarquín, the income from real estate and other assets by the city council was 53 million 485 thousand 774 pesos with 45 cents. But by 2022 they fell by more than 6 million pesos. According to the budget of expenses of the municipality, in that year an amount of 46 million 824 thousand 162.42 pesos was considered as a lump sum of income.

Although at the end of the year, according to data from the analytical state of expenses, at the end 45 million 20 thousand 673.13 pesos were paid for leasing services. Most of them in transportation services: 16 million 207 thousand 880 pesos.

Another of the items with the largest amount budgeted and spent on rents was the lease of buildings, that is, for properties in which some secretariats operate such as Tourism Promotion, Art and Culture, Economic Development or others.

For the first year of the administration of mayor Francisco Martínez Neri, these incomes contemplated an expense of 15 million 860 thousand 323.40 pesos. But according to what was reported in the analytical statement of expenses for that year, the final expense was 12 million 801 thousand 765.69 pesos.

As for other income items, land reached an expense of more than 2 million 830 thousand pesos. Meanwhile, machinery and other equipment and tools was just over 4 million 500 thousand pesos.
