The Development and Innovation Corporation, together with the Department of Heritage and Tourism of the Municipality of Rancagua and the O’Higgins Restaurant Guild Association, will hold the first version of the Gastronomic Fair ‘O’Higgins en Boca 2024’, this Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 at the House of Culture.
In commemoration of Chilean Cuisine Day, this initiative seeks to promote the gastronomic wealth that exists in the O’Higgins region, through an innovative staging full of traditions, which was highlighted by the prestigious New York Times in January. of this year.
The executive director of the Development and Innovation Corporation, Ana María Quinteros, pointed out that “gastronomy is a resource that is part of the cultural, social and economic history of people and their communities, and is an important enhancer of the tourist offer. of destinations, since it is capable of reflecting the inherent lifestyles of each city. This is why as a Corporation and Municipality, we want to highlight the gastronomic wealth of Rancagua and the region, to turn it into an attractive tourist destination.”
The Gastronomic Fair ‘O’Higgins in Boca 2024’ is a free space for the public and will have traditional food stands, live kitchens, outstanding chefs, tastings, food trucks, cafeteria, live music, conversations on gastronomic topics, heritage crafts , breweries, wineries and much more.
The head of the Department of Heritage and Tourism of the Municipality of Rancagua, Patricio Letelier, announced the objectives of this fair: “We want to generate an innovative meeting space that makes visible the chefs of our region, who, through Its gastronomic proposals reflect the food wealth of the territory. In addition, we want the community to value Chilean cuisine, learn about the history of its dishes and their evolution over time, and have the opportunity to live a unique culinary experience.”
The event will begin on Friday, April 26 at 12:00 p.m. and will end around 10:00 p.m., while on Saturday the 27th it will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at the same time as the previous day.
