The Access to Justice Law project (see box), signed by President Gabriel Boric, seeks to unify the four legal assistance entities into a single service. Currently, the project is in the Constitution Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, seeking to optimize and simplify access to legal services for citizens.

In the words of the Director, “Our message is work on legal needs. Everyone has a question to ask a lawyer. These questions can be asked through our website www.cajmetro.cl or also by calling our toll-free number 800 248 300 (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or by coming to our offices from Monday to Friday. We can also attend spontaneously, if you come to our offices in Pichilemu, in Campo Lindo No. 698, and in the Plazas de Justicia that we will create.”

In parallel, Director Mora strengthened institutional relations through bilateral meetings with the presidential delegates of Colchagua and Cardenal Caro, Marta Pizarro and Josefina Toro, respectively. These interactions seek to establish lines of joint action for the benefit of the community.

“As government authorities, we agree on collaborative work strategies, since it is very important to join forces as public institutions so that these services reach those who need them most in a timely manner,” said Marta Pizarro. Subsequently, she held meetings with the officials of the Santa Cruz and Pichilemu Care Centers, where she once again highlighted the institutional vocation to deliver our work with a focus on users.

In summary, the CAJ RM’s work tour in the O’Higgins region reflects the corporation’s commitment to improving access to justice, establishing strategic alliances and bringing its services to the most remote communities. Collaboration with local authorities and commitment to bills such as Access to Justice demonstrate the constant effort to guarantee efficient and quality legal assistance for all citizens.

Access to justice project

This is a substitute indication for the Bill that Creates the National Service for Access to Justice and Defense of Victims. The new Service will have 16 Regional Directorates, which will have powers to manage some of their own powers at the territorial level, without prejudice to the delegation of powers that further strengthens their role.

Among the improvements that stand out from the new institutional framework is the character of a decentralized and deconcentrated organization, which will provide specialized legal assistance in various areas (care for children and adolescents; advice for older adults; advice on discrimination and migrants). ; will promote collaborative conflict resolution, including mediation; and will reinforce comprehensive care for victims of crimes, particularly violent crimes, which will become an essential pillar in terms of citizen security.

The legal initiative contemplates the generation of standards for each of its lines of action, with its corresponding evaluation system, as well as the use of new technologies for its development.
