Within the framework of an operation aimed at recovering the district’s public spaces, the Municipality of Lurín destroyed the swimming pool of the family of former mayor Susana Villarán that was located on Arica beach.
The pool in which the former mayor was caught bathing did not have the necessary authorization to occupy public space, according to the municipal manager of this district in southern Lima, Edgar Belleza.
Images broadcast by RPP showed how a backhoe destroyed the bamboo fence that guarded the pool and then how heavy machinery filled the pool with sand and earth.

Another 16 spaces that irregularly invaded the public space of Lurín were also destroyed.
As is known, Villarán de la Puente is accused of having received contributions from the companies Odebrecht and OAS to favor them with the award of the Yellow Line project in 2012.
With this money, the former capital authority financed the no-recall campaigns in 2013 and his re-election campaign for the metropolitan municipal seat in 2014.
