“Municipality of Faytroun Implements Measures to Regulate Foreign Labor and Displaced Syrians”

The municipality of Faytroun announced that “within the framework of its endeavor to regulate foreign labor and the heavy presence of displaced Syrians in the town, and to preserve security and public order and to avoid any possible friction, it has implemented its previous decisions in this regard, taking into account the recent reviews by citizens.”

And she indicated in a statement that she had taken a series of decisions, namely:

1- Re-conducting a comprehensive survey of Syrian individuals and families that was previously done several times, and verifying their possession of legal identification papers.

2- Requesting the owners of rented apartments to register lease contracts and provide the municipality with a copy of all the legal papers of the tenants and their place of work within a week of notifying them, and not to undertake any new rental process before informing the municipality, under penalty of liability and legal prosecution.

3- Requesting stakeholders, liberal professions, and residential complexes to provide the municipality with identification papers for their Syrian workers under penalty of liability.

4- Instructing the police to prevent gatherings of all kinds, monitor roaming times, and prevent motorcycles from running after seven in the evening.

5- Confiscating unlicensed motor vehicles and handing them over to the security forces.

6- Limiting work to occupations permitted by the Ministry of Labor, which are related to agriculture, construction and the environment.

7- Asking citizens to inform the municipality or security authorities when any violation occurs.
