The Mayor of Amyntaio, Ioannis Liasis, was informed about the economic, professional, labor, insurance and social claims of the Labor Center of Florina during his meeting with the president of the Center, Konstantinos Siakos, and the General Secretary, Thomas Tartora.
According to an announcement from the Municipality, the Mayor assured the representatives of the Labor Center that he will contribute in every way to the resolution of the issues that concern them. During the meeting, the two sides agreed that priority should be given to the issues of unemployment, which has increased due to de-lignification.
Tackling unemployment can be achieved in part through a coherent set of measures, which are related to the Just Development Transition Programme. This program aims to create new jobs and promote sustainable economic activities to support local residents affected by changes in the local economy.
Mayor Ioannis Liasis emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Municipality and the Labor Center for the development and social welfare of the region. “Solving labor and social problems is a priority for the municipal authority. We will work together with the Labor Center to find solutions that will improve the quality of life of our citizens,” he said.
For his part, the president of the Labor Center, Konstantinos Siakos, thanked the Mayor for his support and pointed out that synergy and mutual support are of key importance in addressing the challenges facing the region.
The meeting ended with the promise that further contacts and discussions will follow, in order to plan and implement the necessary actions to deal with unemployment and strengthen the local economy.
