Municipal prizes – for cultural and youth talents

Last Friday, at the event dedicated to the Culture Day in the Priekulė cultural center, the Culture and Art Worker of the Year award, established by the Klaipėda District Municipality, was awarded for the first time, amounting to 1,500 euros. Virgina Asnauskienė, the event organizer of the Dreverna branch of the Priekulė cultural center, became the first laureate of the Culture and Art Worker of the Year award for her merits in fostering ethnic culture, the traditions of Lithuania Minor, the Šišioniški dialect, popularizing the name of the Klaipėda district, educating the young generation and long-term cultural work.

Žilvinas Duotas, a graduate of Gargždai “Rainbow” high school, became the 13th laureate of yet another Ernst Vicherts “Young Talent” prize funded by Klaipėda district municipality for his achievements in the field of exact sciences. The amount of the bonus is EUR 500. The prize winners of the municipality, cultural workers, and participants of the event were congratulated by deputy mayors Vytautas Butkus and Violeta Riaukienė, head of the Culture Department Gintautas Bareikis, Priekulė’s elder Daiva Bliūdžiuvienė.
