The municipal president Antonio Arámbula and his wife Liliana Coronado de Arámbula, hand in hand with the Executive Rotary Club of Aguascalientes directed by Edgar Bussón, as well as the SISAAE of Jesús María, carried out this Saturday the Kilometer of the Book, with which seeks to promote the creation of new libraries in basic education schools in this municipality.
“Reading is a way of transmitting knowledge and experiences; a book always transports us and elevates us to places we cannot imagine and also makes us better people. Thank you for joining this initiative with the DIF”, said the mayor. He added that on behalf of his family, they donated “some (books) that we have already read at home and I invite you to be part of this project to make new libraries in Jesús María.”
For her part, the president of the DIF, Liliana Coronado, thanked the sum of wills and pointed out that “The intention is to revive the good habit of reading that has been replaced by technology, which does help and facilitate different school activities, but touching the books has greater power to transmit knowledge.”
For his part, the head of SISAAE, Alejandro Bárcenas, also noted that it is important to continue promoting reading and highlighted the importance of handling books, since browsing them continues to be a form of learning; “I appreciate all the donations because they help us to grow our collection in the schools of Jesús María”.
Finally, on behalf of the Executive Rotary Club of Aguascalientes, President Edgar Busson added that “This great effort that is being made will allow the creation of more libraries in the municipality and he stressed that through this initiative six have already been integrated, of which three are from Jesús María and thanks to the donations with the Kilometer of the Book, more students will have the opportunity to strengthen their education.
Also present at the event were Deputy Laura Ponce, SISAAE Special Projects Coordinator Denisse Ruvalcaba and Mrs. Victoria Pérez Coronado, widow of master chronicler José Natividad Martínez, who donated an important collection of books on behalf of her husband.
Within the framework of the Kilometer of the Book, the books “Travels that killed the pandemic” by Gustavo de Victoria and “Tenderetes” by Juan Carlos Delgado López were also presented, in addition to the storyteller Lulú Valenzuela.
