Municipal Police Officers Demand Salary Increases and Pension Reforms in Orléans: Act III of National Mobilization

A delegation of around thirty municipal police officers from Tours is expected to reach Orléans (Loiret), Saturday February 3, 2024. A rally is announced in front of the regional prefecture to demand salary increases and pensions: act III of the national mobilization, begun in autumn.

Municipal police officers are asking, among other things, that the “police” bonus (or special monthly police duty allowance) be made compulsory and would like to see it included in the calculation of retirement, as is the case for the “fire bonus” of sappers. -firefighters.

“No social progress”

“Governments have succeeded one another and given municipal police new prerogatives but we have not observed, on a social level, any progress, insists Stéphane Poupeau, president of the National Union of Public Security, stationed in Tours. We are police officers in our own right, confronted with delinquency on a daily basis: on the public highway, our missions and the risks incurred are the same as those of national police officers or gendarmes and demand to be considered. »
