Municipal parking spaces occupied by garages: fines are issued

Municipal parking lots used by garages to park customers’ cars. Napoli has confirmed itself as one of the favorite destinations for tourists, even during the week of Ferragosto. The significant influx of people has resulted in an increase in the demand for parking spaces, to park their vehicles and visit the city and local attractions. To combat possible forms of illegal building, financial police from the provincial command of Naples and personnel from the Local Police have carried out numerous checks on garages in the area of ​​the historic center.

The owners of the establishments were charged with 16 administrative violations, with sanctions of up to 5.000 euro. In particular, the use of irregular signs and billboards, dangerously placed on the edges of busy roads, was found, as well as the illegal occupation of municipal parking spaces by garages to generate additional revenue through the unauthorized parking of additional customer vehicles. During the interventions, 4 “illegal” workers were also identified, 3 of whom were recipients of inclusion allowances, busy during the hottest hours of the day to procure customers, on the edges of the roads.
