Municipal Outlook 2023: For education and new technologies

The market town of Hüttenberg was badly hit by storms last year. The main focus was therefore on the renovation of the impassable roads, which can now finally be completed.

HUTTENBERG. Mayor Josef Ofner is happy that after delays, all roads are finally passable again. The Zosnerstraße project was also completed as part of the renovation.

For the fire department

A large project is currently being planned and the tender is in the hands of the province of Carinthia. Hüttenberg needs a new equipment house for the fire brigade. An architectural competition is to be announced and completed this year so that the new armory can be built in the near future.

new technologies

The expansion of the fiber optic network is particularly important to the mayor. “The first expansion stage of the project for the overall expansion can be completed, the last house connections are currently being planned,” Ofner sees positively in the future. The app already developed for the museum facilities is also in use. The integration of the municipality of Hüttenberg into the Cities App is currently being planned. Hüttenberg would be one of the first municipalities in Carinthia to be there and will offer a platform for clubs and companies to put their current offers online. “Above all, our great cultural offer gets a user-friendly platform for locals and guests with this app,” says the mayor hopefully.

intercommunal cooperation

The Görtschitztal cycle path is in the process of being completed, and the municipality is in the process of arranging funding for the final sections. In the course of this, a pressure line for waste water recycling is to be built up to the valley collection point in Brückl. This inter-municipal cooperation is particularly important to Josef Ofner. “For almost two years we have been working together with Kappel and Guttaring on an educational project, which is also being scientifically supported by the Alpen-Adria-Universität,” explains Ofner, “this should also serve to ensure quality and network in the area of elementary schools and kindergartens for the future .” The funding commitment from the state has now arrived. The construction of a topotheque is still in the planning stage, here too in an intermunicipal manner with the communities of Klein St. Paul, Eberstein and Brückl and in cooperation with the Carinthian Educational Institute.
