Another episode of the internal war in the DPS is taking place in Hitrino. In the movement-controlled city of Shumen, the local party structure and city councilors are fighting, taking different sides in the fight between chairman Delyan Peevski and respected leader Ahmed Dogan.
On August 1, city officials released a statement expressing their support for Dogan. “Clearly we do not accept actions that damage the good name of the honorable chairman, and we say that they are considered actions against the fundamental foundations of the party,” the document reads. Municipal councilors are calling for the resignation of MP Hamid Hamid, who joined parliament from Shumen, as well as DPS-Shoumen regional president Nedret Khalil, dissociating themselves from the decisions of the structure. ‘ regional party.
Hamid is in Peevski’s closest circle. He is one of the people who asked Dogan by name to resign from their party positions.
On August 9, the resistance will come. The DPS-Hitrino city council announces its full support for Hamid and Khalil, as well as the head of the Hitrino city party group, Sevjan Akif. And he removed the trust of three municipal councilors – Emin Shakir, Gursel Hussein and Naji Ismail, who are the authors of the aforementioned declaration. They are being asked to resign.
So, in practice, Khytrin’s distributors sided with Peevski. They justify their decision as follows: “We do not support the exclusion of key people from the DPS levels, which is the basis of the results achieved in the last elections for representatives of the people and members of the European Parliament from the European Republic. Bulgaria, and we stand behind the representative of our people from the region of Shumen Hamid Hamid.”
The strange thing, parallel to this, is that the people of Peevski in the village group declare that they stand “without knowing”, as they say, with Dogan. “Dr. Ahmed Dogan is the founder, ideologist and undisputed leader of the DPS. We declare that our unity is our strength! We stand behind the unity, unity and monolithicity of the party,” read confirmation of Khytrin distributors. This shows Peevski’s desire to reconcile somehow with the honorable leader before the elections.

The village group’s actions caused anger among the people of Dogan.
