The activists of Generation Ecology were no doubt surprised when they received the official documents for the second round of municipal elections in Argenteuil. They were able to observe that the ballot papers and the professions of faith of the candidates on the list of Philippe Doucet (PS) included the logo of the party chaired by Delphine Batho. The Val-d’Oisienne party team ruled on Friday in a statement. “Génération Écologie does not support any list for the municipal elections in Argenteuil where we have no member,” they underline.
“Philippe Doucet cannot henceforth lead voters to believe that he has any support from Génération Écologie, nor use the logo of Génération Écologie on his campaign documents, without incurring his responsibility before the civil or criminal courts both personally and as a representative of an organization ”, specifies the environmentalist party.
“We have never given an investiture in Argenteuil”
Philippe Doucet, meanwhile, believes that there was an error. “They had given their support to Olivia Fillette (SE), so as we merged with her list, tradition has it that the logos follow. I don’t see why what was valid in the first round should not be valid in the second. If they disagreed, they had to say it first, ”he explains.
Except that Generation ecology indicates that Olivia Fillette did not have their support either. “We have never given an investiture in Argenteuil, neither in the first round nor in the second,” refutes Carine Pelegrin, the departmental manager of Generation Ecology.
The party is waiting for a communication from the candidate
On the other hand, she remembers that the Génération écologie label was found on a leaflet from Olivia Fillette’s campaign, but it did not happen again afterwards. “No one had told us about the fact that we were using our logo without our knowledge,” she recounts.
Carine Pelegrin indicates that she has contacted Philippe Doucet to clarify the situation. “Philippe Doucet must communicate that the fact that he does not have the nomination of Generation Ecology”, she specifies. However, he does not seem to have reacted. Carine Pelegrin specifies that in the event of a lack of communication on her part, Generation Ecology has “bodies which will take the appropriate decisions”.
