In some communities the cards were reshuffled after the election, in others everything remained more or less the same. Last week we brought three communities in the picture, in which the election result is particularly exciting. The district newspapers asked the top candidates to speak. Petronell-Carnuntum In Petronell-Carnuntum, the municipal council election on Sunday was an exciting head-to-head race, as both the ÖVP and the SPÖ, which provided the mayor with Martin Almstädter, each held nine mandates in the municipal council. In the 2020 municipal council election, however, the SPÖ emerged victorious with 54.29 percent. That is an increase of around 10 percent. The ÖVP comes in second place with 41.98 (- 6.89%). The FPÖ reached 3.74 percent and thus no longer makes it into the municipal council. Bruck an der Leitha The SPÖ emerged as the clear winner, increasing its absolute majority by 4.38 percent, which corresponds to two mandates. With a minus of 10.08 percent and the loss of three mandates, the ÖVP emerged as a major loser in the election. For the first time, the citizens list Bruck and Wilfleinsdorf also stood for election. LBW achieved third place straight away and can look forward to two mandates. Mayor Gerhard Weil of the SPÖ said: “I am speechless and overwhelmed. I am humbled to see the great election result, because it confirms the years of constant and stable teamwork that we have carried out for a liveable Bruck and Wilfleinsdorf.” The turquoise ÖVP top candidate Alexander Petznek is fair: “The Bruckers have made a decision. I congratulate the SPÖ on the election victory. Whether we get the chance to participate depends on the SPÖ, our hands are stretched out.” Felix Böhm from the new LBW Citizens List is pleased: “This is a great result for our team, even though we started for the first time and it was very short-term. Now we are in third place, which is sensational.” Profits and losses Some municipalities surprised with the election result. The SPÖ in Enzersdorf / Fischa fell to 26.11 percent (- 14.55%). In Götzendorf too, the SPÖ loses a whopping 20.37 percent. In both cases, the ÖVP has benefited from it. – – – – —- Do you like this content?
