In a month, the voters of the Pre Saint-Gervais (Seine-Saint-Denis) will have to return to the polls, after the cancellation of the result of municipal elections March 2020. In the meantime, the lists are preparing their candidacy: the candidates in the first round have until Thursday, November 18, 2021 to register with the prefecture.
Applicants already declared
Most of the candidates, already present in the 2020 ballot, have already made known their intention to stand. Shortly after the cancellation, socialist activists again designated Laurent Baron, the outgoing mayor, as head of the list.
He should find himself in front of him Alexandre Send and his list Le Pré, the change !, as well as the Gervaisian Alternatives list, carried by Gregory Roger and Anna Coulon. Delphine Debord, and the citizen list of PréSaint-Gervais, at the origin of the appeal, has also announced his intention to stand.
Canceled elections
The Council of State canceled the elections following an error by “the citizen list of Pré Saint-Gervais” in the drafting of its ballot paper. In question : 42 ballots from this list, judged invalid because the nationality of a candidate did not appear, whereas this is compulsory by law.
These ballots had been used by voters despite the urgent reprinting of new compliant ballots. During the counting, the 42 ballots were invalidated. However, Laurent Baron was elected in the first round with only seven votes ahead. The new elections will be held on Sunday December 5 and 12, 2021.
