With the support of donations of screw caps for sale in recycling and various contributions, the DIF Ramos Arizpe maintained the delivery of support to women with cancer.
Jorge Gutiérrez Padilla, director of said agency, explained that – despite the pandemic – the actions for the benefit of Ramos Arizpenses who fight against breast or cervical cancer continued.
Through the “Warriors for life” program, 7 breast prostheses were acquired from the Rotary Club of Ramos Arizpe, as well as 20 oncological bras that are about to be distributed.
“Thanks to the collaboration agreement that our president Anilú Cavazos de Morales signed with the president of the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Alma Lee de Bernal, it was possible to collect 179 braids which were delivered to the oncological wig factory. This type of action allowed us to deliver 7 wigs to the members of Guerreras por la Vida, ”the official reported.
Through the “Donate, recycle and give hope” program, almost 7 tons of screw caps were collected, which allowed us to obtain around 30 thousand pesos that were destined for the payment of clinical tests, medicines, transfers and stays in Red Cross shelters for 28 patients with cancer.
“We have had a very important support from the population who bring us their caps, which take them to the hearts that are in various parts of the city, as well as from solidarity companies such as Fragro, Perrigo, Merco and the Scouts of Ramos Arizpe that also participate in this task, which has allowed us to continue with this project and expand the number of beneficiaries.
Gutiérrez Padilla highlighted that 195 emotional health talks were offered for those who are experiencing this disease, and coordination is maintained with the area of care for cancer patients of the DIF Coahuila, as well as with the Ayuda Rosa and Grupo Reto Associations.
