The Municipal DIF System of San Luis Potosí, headed by teacher Estela Arriaga Márquez, continues its work committed to the well-being of women facing cancer, providing them with emotional and physical support through the donation of oncological wigs and breast prostheses.
Thanks to donations of braids, the Municipal DIF has been able to make wigs that are given free of charge to women who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy treatments. These wigs not only help them regain their self-esteem, but also represent hope in their recovery process.
«Each donated braid becomes a sign of solidarity that improves the quality of life of those who are going through this difficult situation, so I invite both women and men with long hair to consider donating it before getting rid of it completely, as it will be of great help because up to 8 braids in good condition are required to make a wig.»
She added that the goal is to accompany and support women who are facing cancer, giving them tools to overcome this fight with dignity and strength, and she also thanked the volunteers for their donations.
Finally, the president of the Capital DIF, Estela Arriaga, reminded women to undergo periodic check-ups and attend regular medical check-ups to detect breast cancer in a timely and early manner. She also asked that the braids that the population considers donating must be at least 30 cm long, clean, and delivered directly to the offices of the Capital DIF located at Xicoténcatl 1650, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
We will continue to report.
