Munich – Friday, 10:00 p.m. DJ Nihil pushes the volume control up in the Harry Klein electro club in Munich – the moment everyone has been waiting for.

After almost a year and a half, you can dance here again without a gap and without a mask.

Shortly before the start, the tension can be felt in club operator Peter Fleming: “Of course I’m a little excited,” says the 54-year-old. Fleming and his team worked for this moment for months, rehearsing the process at the entrance with the staff the day before.

On Thursday the cabinet decided that discos and clubs in Bavaria may reopen from Friday with the “3G Plus rule”. In the Free State, only those who have been vaccinated or recovered or who have a negative PCR test are allowed to enter the club – a rapid antigen test or a self-test are not sufficient.

However, Harry Klein decided in favor of the 2G rule right from the start. “We just don’t see a future in 3G,” says Fleming. Most visitors to the club seem to see it the same way: “You can’t buy a PCR test for over 70 euros every time before the party,” says visitor Tanja.

For the 21-year-old, a wish comes true today. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long. Finally some normality again ”. It feels like it used to be. “At the beginning I hesitated a little, but after about half an hour the fear of contact was gone again,” says Tanja. Most of all, she missed getting to know new people. During the lockdown, this was almost impossible.
