Munich’s ‘Bayern’ from PSG attracts Cameroonian Suppo-Moting

German Football Bundesliga Club Munich »Bayernhas signed a contract with Cameroon national forward Erik Maxim Schup-Moting, who previously played for Paris’ Saint-Germain (PSG), the Bundesliga champion said on Monday.

The contract is concluded for one year.

The 31-year-old German footballer previously played for the German clubs Hamburg, Mainz and Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen, as well as for the English club City Stoke.

He joined PSG in 2018 and helped the team reach last season’s Champions League final, in which Bayern lost in Lisbon.

“I’m glad we can sign a contract with Erik,” says Hassan Salihamidchi, Bayern’s sports director. “He gives our team the necessary substitution in the attack, mostly in the center.”

After signing the contract, Shupo-Moting said it was “great feeling” to return to the Bundesliga. He is expected to be used primarily as a backup striker for Polish star Robert Levandowski.

As part of the Cameroon national team, Šupo-Motings has played 49 games with 14 goals.
