Munich, Vienna, Cologne: Lufthansa Group expands offer at Saxon airports

From September, airlines in the Lufthansa Group will again be flying to airports in Vienna, Munich and Cologne.

Leipzig / Dresden – After a Corona-related forced break, the Lufthansa Group is taking further routes to the Central German Airports on. Among other things, connections to Düsseldorf, Vienna and Munich are being strengthened.

As announced by Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, Eurowings, among others, will start from Dresden Airport to Cologne / Bonn on August 31. The Austrian Airline will connect Halle / Leipzig Airport to Vienna from September 2nd, Lufthansa will connect the same with Munich from September 7th.

With Munich and Vienna, two important international hubs from Saxony will soon be accessible non-stop again: There, passengers have a wide range of connections, including to Chicago, Washington, Athens, Sarajevo, Sofia and Graz.

Via Munich, passengers from Leipzig / Halle will soon be able to reach metropolises such as London, Paris, Rome, San Francisco and New York again.

From the end of August, Eurowings will take off from Dresden Airport to Cologne / Bonn up to five times a week. Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft are used on the route.

As Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG emphasized, extensive precautions have been taken to protect the health of passengers and employees.

Mouth and nose protection must be worn in the terminals. With airlines, too, there is usually an obligation to cover the mouth and nose.

Other precautions include separating discs at the check-in counters and at the boarding pass controls and disinfectant dispensers in the terminals. In cooperation with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Saxony, the Free State of Saxony has set up corona test centers for travelers returning at Leipzig / Halle and Dresden airports.

The test centers are signposted at both airports.
