Don’t hide, that’s important to Laila Montana Mizzi Noeth, 26. As a singer she calls herself briefly Laila Montana. In her music she shows herself openly and meets her emotions in an honest way. “Music has always helped me,” says Laila. You can hear that in their songs. Laila stands behind her keyboard, looks into the crowd and announces her next song. She briefly explains what it is about, what he means to her, but tries not to anticipate too much. “I think leaving this space for the listener, where they can also have their own story with the song, is also something very nice,” says Laila.
Laila released some songs early on in cooperation with other artists and was lucky enough to be able to gain stage experience. Only this year she released her first song “Chasing Cars”. She recently opened for The Marble Man at the Institute Français. More releases were actually planned, but things have slowed down a bit since her father died in January. “I just had to take a bit out of it,” says Laila. Of course it was difficult for Laila at the beginning, her music is emotional and goes deep. But thanks to the support in her environment, she was able to continue. “I just have people where I notice that it is just right and I feel good there, I can open up and I can continue to make music there,” says Laila.
“Chasing Cars is my most personal song, and I also dedicated it to my father,” says Laila. In this song it was important for her to deal with a topic that has occupied her all her life. It is about the wishes and ideas of a relationship. “It’s about two people falling in love with each other and then realizing, once the rose-colored glasses are gone, that it is then not so compatible with each other. Then you have decided in favor of each other and want to make it possible,” says Laila. The music video for this was made in the Arri cinema. Here Laila slips into very different personalities and shows that we humans are diverse.
In the new songs she doesn’t just want to devote herself to love topics. It should be about fast pace and the digital world. “Where are we as humans, what do we actually feel and where can we open up more and share that with others again?” Asks Laila.
