Passengers on the Munich S-Bahn must prepare for severe restrictions again from 10:30 p.m. this Wednesday, August 14th, until 4:40 a.m. on Monday, August 19th. During this period, the Ostbahnhof will be almost completely cut off from S-Bahn traffic. Only the S2 from and to Erding will still stop at the station. The reason: Deutsche Bahn (DB) is still working on the new electronic signal box at the Ostbahnhof. DB is also replacing switches in Daglfing.
During this period, no S-Bahn trains will run between Isartor and Ostbahnhof and between Ostbahnhof and Giesing, Trudering and Johanneskirchen. Replacement buses will run between Isartor and Johanneskirchen via Ostbahnhof. In Giesing (S3, S7) and Trudering (S4, S6) there is a connection to the U2.
Otherwise, the S1 ends above ground at the main station and travels from and to Moosach without stopping; some trains start and end in Feldmoching. The S3 from Holzkirchen ends in Giesing, while trains from the other direction from Mammendorf end at Isartor.
The S4 only runs between Geltendorf and Heimeranplatz, the connection between Pasing and Trudering is cancelled. The S6 from Ebersberg ends in Trudering and only runs every 40 minutes. The trains from Tutzing end at the main station and run to and from Pasing without stopping.
In the eastern part of the S7, replacement services will be in place between Giesing and Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn until 4 a.m. on August 26. A shuttle S-Bahn will run every hour from there to Kreuzstraße. Between Harras and Wolfratshausen, the S7 will only run every 40 minutes until August 21.
Important for anyone planning a flight: The airport line S8 will be replaced by buses between Johanneskirchen and Isartor. The S8 from Herrsching ends in Pasing.
Further upcoming disruptions: From August 26th, 9:45 p.m., to September 9th, 3 a.m., the S3 between Deisenhofen and Holzkirchen will be replaced by buses. From September 3rd, 2 p.m., to September 9th, 4 a.m., replacement buses will also run instead of the S1 on the Moosach – Fasanerie – Feldmoching route.
