Munich Regional Court sees initial suspicion of criminal organization in “Last Generation” | MDR.DE

Bläul is listed as a suspect in the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office’s investigation against the “Last Generation” for forming a criminal organization. According to his statement, his phone and the phones of family members were tapped and his apartment was searched. The reason for this was Bläul’s participation in a disruption to an oil pipeline. “It’s of course a bit strange when we are then criminalized in an absolutely blatant manner. And otherwise everything continues as before. What we really need are better climate protection measures and not better justice and more incarcerations.”

According to the Munich court, the “last generation” represents a significant threat to public safety. The blockades of various airports and actions intended to interrupt the flow of various oil pipelines are, in the court’s opinion, minor crimes. Therefore search warrants are legal.

The court emphasized that social discourse is violated when a group tries to place itself above the rule of law and democratic processes – possibly in a morally superior manner. The court emphasized that crimes are not a means of free, democratic, constitutional discussion, but rather an expression of criminal energy.

Bavaria has already taken tough action against the “Last Generation” in the past: the Munich police recently took around 30 members of the group into “longer-term” preventative custody in September. A police spokesman said at the time that they wanted to prevent further crimes from being committed. The Bavarian Police Act is the only one in the country that allows for longer preventive detention. In extreme cases, people can be detained for up to two months to prevent the commission of an administrative offense or criminal offense.
