Munich: Burnt mini-apartment offered for 270,000 euros

Charred walls, torn floors, great location: 270,000 euros are claimed on the Internet for an apparently burnt-out apartment in Munich-Haidhausen. The condition is flatteringly described as ‘in dire need of refurbishment’.

In Monaco, it is said, you can even sell a shoebox to a potential buyer for big bucks, the housing shortage is so great and the returns are so tempting.

But if the 29.58 square meters currently offered by Immobilienscout24 flat find a buyer so fast? “The apartment is in desperate need of renovation and is currently not habitable,” it reads advertisement. A look at the attached photos reveals why. The walls are black, the floor is cracked, the cables are dangling. It looks burnt.

Uninhabitable mini-apartment: 29 m2 burned for 270,000 euros

Unsurprisingly, the ad says the apartment needs extensive refurbishment, i.e.: new electrical, heating, flooring, walls, ceilings, doors, toilet and shower facilities. With the gas supply, the small kitchen heated, the bedroom and the living room of almost 13 square meters have no heating.

But: at least the front door and windows are ready. And: the location should attract at least some, the house is an old building from the end of the 19th century, in the most beautiful Haidhausen, on the Pariser Straße directly on the Postwiese park.

This probably explains why you can’t find a bargain here, despite the ramshackle appearance: the seller wants 270,000 euros for less than 30 square meters. Even in Munich, it seems questionable whether anyone will pay for it.
