After losing the toss, RCB went into bat and scored 196 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. RCB’s top scorer was captain Faf du Plessis who scored 61 runs off 40 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Rajat Patidar (50 off 26 balls) and Dinesh Karthik (53* off 23 balls) also scored half-centuries. Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets for Mumbai. Bumrah’s 5 wickets were conceded only 21 runs in four overs.
Patidar faced 26 balls and got out after scoring 50 runs with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Dinesh Karthik smashed Bengaluru to 190 in the last overs. Karthik scored 53 runs off 23 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Karthik scored 19 runs with two sixes and a four in the last over bowled by Akash Madhwal.
Opener Virat Koh was dismissed for three wickets. Kohli, who faced 9 balls, scored only three runs and gifted the wicket to Bumrah in the third over. After that Will Jacks got out with 8 runs from 6 balls and the score was 23 runs for 2.

Glenn Maxwell (0 off 4 balls) once again disappointed. Maxwell’s golden duck in the match brought him to shame of Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma’s record of most golden ducks in IPL history. All three have been Golden Ducks 17 times each so far.

This is the first time a player has taken a five-wicket haul in IPL against RCB. Bumrah is also the fourth bowler to take five-wicket haul twice in IPL. Bumrah’s predecessors are James Faulkner, Jaydev Unadkat and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bumrah has dismissed Kohli for the fifth time in IPL history. Kohli was also Bumrah’s first IPL wicket.
