The silver medalist of the 2018 Olympics, four-time world champion in figure skating Guillaume Sizeron made a cuming out. The Frenchman, performing in doubles with Gabriela Papadakis, fears that this statement will overshadow his achievement on ice.
Sizeron stated that for a long time he resisted the entreaties of his close circle in telling him about his orientation. The skater believes that his statement will help the LGBT community, but may block his athletic success.
“I want to be known as a figure skater, winning medals, and not as a gay skater. My cuming out should benefit homosexuality,” the Frenchman L’Equipe quotes.
Recall that Sizeron paired with Papadakis won the silver of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 he won the world championships, and from 2015 to 2019 he also won at the European championships.
