Shooting at Fort Lauderdale Apartment Complex Leaves Multiple Victims
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A shooting at an apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale has left multiple victims, according to police in Broward County. The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the area of Northwest 19th Street and 29th Avenue.
Fort Lauderdale police responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting with multiple victims. Authorities stated that a group of people had gathered in the courtyard of the apartment complex when they were confronted by another group.
Five individuals, including two juveniles, were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. Among the victims, one adult sustained life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by the police.
A witness, who resides in the apartment complex, recounted the terrifying incident to Local 10 News reporter Bridgette Matter. The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that some of the victims were juveniles. She also mentioned that she had assisted one of the victims who had been shot in the leg.
Expressing her fear and frustration, the witness said, “It’s scary and I’m ready to move. This is ridiculous. We can’t even let our kids outside and feel safe because every day there’s a shooting, and you’re scared to let your kids outside.”
