There were a number of stabbings at the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping center, Sydney, Australia. Local police also said a man was shot.
Reported by The Guardian and Sky News, Saturday (13/4/2024) the police were carrying out a large-scale operation after reports of several stabbings at Bondi Junction, which is near Bondi Beach in Sydney. The incident occurred on Saturday (13/4) afternoon.
Hundreds of people have been evacuated from the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping center although several people are reportedly still trapped inside.
At least four people died in the incident at Bondi Junction. It is not known whether that included the attacker.
In addition, there were reports that one person was shot in this chaos. The public is advised to avoid the area.
Investigations are continuing into the incident and no further details are available.
