Even earlier that day, about an hour before the deadly shooting in Canarsie, a shooting was reported in the Bronx, according to police. A man was shot in the head near the Bronx office of New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie in the Baychester neighborhood.

A witness described hearing four shots in Fenton Avenuenear East Gun Hill Road, all in the middle of the day.

The victim was said to be in critical condition at the hospital. Police say the suspected shooter fled in a white BMW sedan.

No arrests have been made in any of the three cases, and police investigations are ongoing.
