At least 22 LAPD cadets were run over Wednesday afternoon by a man driving in the opposite direction. Five of them remain in critical condition, as announced. the local newspaper Los Angeles Times.
The hit and run occurred during a run for police cadets in the city of Winttier in southwestern California near the officer training academy. According to the first report of the emergency services, at least 22 people were injured while running when the accident occurred, five of them are in critical condition, although it is not yet known how many were hit directly by the vehicle.
Cadets generally run on the street as part of their training. The causes of the accident are not yet clear, nor if there was poor visibility at the time of impact. More than a dozen ambulances have moved into the area to treat the injured.
