Two Dutch people are missing in Georgia, where twelve people have been killed since Friday by a landslide in the mountain resort of Shovi. A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms the disappearance.
Insiders report that these are minors who were hiking in the mountains with their father, although the spokesperson cannot confirm this.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides consular assistance to the relatives of those involved and is in close contact with the local authorities.
The rescue operation in Georgia is still in full swing. On Saturday, the deputy minister of the interior flew to the disaster area.
Drones are being used to search the area. Drone footage of the landslide shows the valley partially covered in mud, logs and other debris.
